Air-Pads are designed to be used on AEG cylinder heads. Made of an ultra durable soft polyurethane they are the optimal hardness for airsoft guns – soft enough to absorb impact, but hard enough to not compress too quickly. The 3/16" thickness offers a good balance between impact absorption, cylinder volume and angle of engagement correction.
Sorbothane may have the vibration dampening and shock absorbing qualities desired in a cylinder head pad, but the long relaxation time means in most builds the pad is still mostly compressed after the first shot when firing full auto. This leads to a high wear rate and the pads need frequent replacements. Air-Pads recover their original shape faster meaning they perform to their full effect every cycle and last much longer.
